The globe valves do not cause "water hammer" and close rather slowly. On the top of this ball, the sphere is one lever, which only turns for a quarter of a circle. It consists of stainless steel, brass or chrome sphere that is drilled through, from one of its end to another. Hence, they are also called as quarter-turn valves, and the lever can be moved for controlling the flow of the pipe. Gate valves can have the "rise" stems, and through the stem&39;s position, you can deduce whether the it is closed or open. Still, they require more minute inspection to judge the water flow, in comparison to the ball valves. Globe Valves Globe valves are only designed in a way so that they can only limit the fluid or water flow. The water hence flows freely when the lever assumes this position.
